Recap: CS Nebelhorn Trophy 2018

Another highly anticipated Challenger Series event, Nebelhorn Trophy took place this weekend in Oberstdorf, Germany. It is the sixth Challenger event in the series so far, and the competition celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. Many fan favourites had their first international assignment of the season at this event, and took the competition as a chance to test out their new programs for the season ahead. Recap: JGP Czech Skate 2018

The Junior Grand Prix continued this week in Ostrava, Czech Republic with JGP Czech Skate, where 24 men, 35 ladies, 18 ice dance teams and 17 pairs team vied for finishes that would bring them one step closer to the JGP Final in December. The ISU livestreamed the entirety of the competition and uploaded select skaters’ videos to YouTube; additionally, the ITL YouTube channel now features playlists of the medalists’ and special shoutouts’ performances.

Recap: CS Autumn Classic International 2018

One of the most anticipated Challenger Series events, Autumn Classic International, took place in Oakville, Canada, this weekend. It featured a star-studded lineup of both World and Olympic medalists, eager to show off their new programs for the season ahead. Recap: CS Ondrej Nepela Trophy 2018

The fourth Challenger Series event, the Ondrej Nepela Trophy, took place in Bratislava, Slovakia over the weekend. The event was streamed by the Slovakian Federation but most of the original feeds have been taken down due to copyright issues - you should be able to find most of the individual programmes reuploaded to Youtube. The second Challenger Series event, the Lombardia Trophy, took place in Bergamo, Italy over the weekend. As the season continues to unfold, exciting new programs are unveiled each competition, and Lombardia was no exception. Recap: CS US International Figure Skating Classic 2018

The Challenger Series made it’s first stop in North America this week in Salt Lake City for the US International Figure Skating Classic. This event hosted a contingent of 5 pairs, 11 men, 7 ice dance teams, and 15 ladies. All vying for a spot on the podium and points toward their world rank. Unfortunately this event was geo-blocked and only available for US viewers who purchased an NBC Gold subscription pass for figure skating.

This event saw the season debut for many top skaters, marking first looks at new programs costumes and improvements from last season. All event results information, including protocols, can be found here.

The Junior Grand Prix series continued this week in Richmond, British Columbia/Canada with JGP Canada, where 21 men, 29 ladies, 11 pairs, and 11 ice dance teams vied for finishes that would bring them one step closer to the JGP Final in December. The ISU livestreamed the entirety of the competition and uploaded select skaters’ videos to YouTube; additionally, the ITL YouTube channel now features playlists of the medalists’ and special shoutouts’ performances, which can be viewed here.
