season: 2018-2019

Episode 30: World Team Trophy 2019 - Transcript

Evie: It's quite disheartening that we have to go through this, especially when the IJS is, if you read it, a quite solid system if you base it just solely off what's written in the handbooks. If it's applied effectively, it would be a really solid judging system but it's not being used to its full advantage because judges aren't applying it fairly.

Yogeeta: The answer is clearly that we need robot tech callers and robot judges.

Niamh: That's at the next Congress.

Evie: Listen, they have to argue about whether music can be brought on a USB to a competition - I think we're a couple of centuries away from robots at this point. Let's be honest.

Episode 29: World Figure Skating Championships 2019 - Transcript

Yogeeta: Peng and Jin's short is probably my favourite Short Program from the pairs from the entire season, and the fact that they were a fully rotated triple Sal away from getting bronze just causes my anxiety.

Kat: Listen, Sals are cursed for the Chinese pair girls.

Kite: They're cursed for everybody as we will talk about.

Yogeeta: Sals are snakes, we don't like them, they don't go here.

Kat: Yeah, I know. Although, I sacrificed something to the sal gods for Wenjing landing that Sal in the free, because I was like…

Yogeeta: Yeah, you sacrificed Yuzuru's Sal!

Kite: We really got to be more specific next time.

Episode 28: World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2019 - Transcript

Karly: We've been knew we have no faith in men.

Evie: And it was just so crazy! The top ten were only separated by what? Like five points from each other?

Sam: Yeah like barely even that.

Evie: It was insane! And then in the Free Skate everyone kind of died so you know [laughter] parallels!.

Sam: The Free Skate sure did happen!

Karly: In the Free Skate, wasn't it only Roman who was clean?

Evie: He wasn't even clean though!

(Hosts laugh)

Episode 26: Four Continents Championships 2019 - Transcript

Kat: Oh my goodness! Guys seeing them live is just like...it's just like...they're so magical and perfect and...honestly it feels like the Pairs' field has finally validated its' existence with them back again.

Evie and Kite: *laughter* Ouch!

Kat: Honestly, I feel like the Pairs' field has just been dwindling and now they are back and Pairs is finally a thing again!

Evie: James and Cipres I'm so sorry!

Kat: I'm so sorry I love them so much! But Sui and Han are just the class of the Pairs' field. I think that...I love James/Cipres and you've heard me crying about them multiple times.

Kite: I've seen you crying about them multiple times.

Episode 25: Canadian and US Nationals 2019 - Transcript

Yogeeta: And before we begin, US Nationals is unique in that they have four people on the podium and not three.

Karly: Yeah, they have a Pewter medal...

Niamh: Or a potato waffle.

(All hosts laugh)

Karly: A what now? Okay yeah, so it's unique - they have a pewter medal for fourth place, also affectionately called the potato medal, I don't know why it's called that but it is. Niamh called it a potato waffle. (Niamh and Karly laugh)

Episode 24: European Championships 2019 - Transcript

Evie: It was a really great send off for his career, as you said Kite, the choice to use these two programs this season; not only have those programs gotten him some of the biggest achievements in his career before but they are also so uniquely Spanish and they say so much about his as a skater.

Kat: In case we were wondering which country he was from...

Evie: (sarcastically) What?! Javi is Spanish? What?

Kat: This is completely new information.

Kite: Exactly.

Episode 23: Japanese Nationals 2019 - Transcript

Yogeeta: I’m very thankful we have Kaori Sakamoto, Japanese National champion. Her reaction when she saw her score was everything.

Nina: Don’t forget this was right after the world’s cutest dab.

Kite: Dabbing in the Kiss & Cry? She’s been taking lessons from Nam [Nyugen], clearly.

Yogeeta: No one should be taking those lessons (laughter).

Episode 22: Russian Nationals 2019 - Transcript

Sam: I will say she hits a beautiful line in a lift; their lifts are great when she like elongates out, because she has super long legs too.

Nina: When she bends them right, she makes her positions look very nice.

Sam: She’s not as leggy as Alexandra but she’s cleaner with those long legs than Alexandra is.

Nina: What do they put in the water over there? I want some of that leg juice. (Hosts laugh)

Sam: Yeah, exactly. (laughs)

Episode 21: Junior Grand Prix Final - Transcript

Evie: Let's go on to talking about the Junior Grand Prix Final! We talked about the Seniors last week and we're here talking about the Juniors this week. It's the end of the road for the Juniors and the end of Ted's commentary for a while, which makes me sad.

Kat: I mean, I obviously didn't hear Ted's commentary because I was there but I will miss it a lot. I did miss his commentary during the event.

Evie: They should just broadcast it in the arena.

Kat: Yeah!
