Gina: It is also quite demanding to go up to Seniors because a lot of Juniors will see that as an opportunity to improve their technical content, but they do also have to get out of the habit of being "Junior-ish" in their presentation. I think that would be a good reason to keep a program, so that you can mature it.
Lae: Like cheese. [Hosts laugh].
Karly: A good program is like cheese.
Lae: Yes, it needs time and loving care.
Lae: It's also the “Toy Story” song which seems oddly fitting for Keegan for some reason.
Gina: I would maybe like it more if he was dressed as a cowboy.
Lae: That's true. Keegan, you dropped the ball completely.
Gina: You’ve got that cowboy hat. (Lae: Oh my god, he does!)
Iman: Imagine he came up with actual cowboy boots as his skates. That would be fantastic.
Gina: That would be so cute.
Lae: If you're going to go for disco Romeo and Juliet, you might as well like go the entire way, like come on.
The fourth Challenger Series event, the Ondrej Nepela Trophy, took place in Bratislava, Slovakia over the weekend. The event was streamed by the Slovakian Federation but most of the original feeds have been taken down due to copyright issues - you should be able to find most of the individual programmes reuploaded to Youtube. The second Challenger Series event, the Lombardia Trophy, took place in Bergamo, Italy over the weekend. As the season continues to unfold, exciting new programs are unveiled each competition, and Lombardia was no exception. The Challenger Series made it’s first stop in North America this week in Salt Lake City for the US International Figure Skating Classic. This event hosted a contingent of 5 pairs, 11 men, 7 ice dance teams, and 15 ladies. All vying for a spot on the podium and points toward their world rank. Unfortunately this event was geo-blocked and only available for US viewers who purchased an NBC Gold subscription pass for figure skating.
This event saw the season debut for many top skaters, marking first looks at new programs costumes and improvements from last season. All event results information, including protocols, can be found here.
